2018 Golf Outing and Auction
Thank you for another great event!
With another year behind us, we couldn’t be happier with the outcome or more thankful for your support! The 11th annual Kali's Cure Golf Outing and Auction was a huge success! Thanks to the hard work of countless friends, volunteers and donors, we raised over $200,000 to help support some exciting programs, ultimately leading to a cure!
As we announced during the 2017 event, we continued to work with the DNR and finalized a program where we donated the funds to purchase 5 track chairs! Five State Parks in Michigan, now, provide opportunities for those with paralysis (and other debilitating diseases) to do everything from joining family vacations to hunting, fishing, driving the trails and even using them to continue their physical therapy. Although the chairs are already being used, we are looking forward to working with the State to promote the new track chairs and increase their use so, maybe one day, this program will spread to even more parks!
We are proud to continue our support of the RIM Fund and have pledged a $50,000 donation so that we can take part in helping with some of their exciting new research, rehab, and morale building activities. In addition to the RIM Fund donation, we were also happy to support University Hosptials’ Diaphragm Pacing Program (DPP). This year, we were honored to have Dr. Onders join us again to provide new details of the DPP as well as examples of the remote places around the world where he travels to implant new patients. Dr. Onders and the DPP were the recipients of our very first donation and, as of right now, we are well on our way to reaching $1 Million in total donations to this life-saving program by next year’s event! Thanks to your overwhelming support of Kali’s Cure and the DPP, we will have reached this milestone in less than 12 years!
