Race for Research in Denton, TX
Event Date: May 21, 2010RACE FOR RESEARCH
May 21-23
North Texas Kartway
On the weekend of May 21-23, Jim Hickerson and Troy Ross put together the Race for Research hosted by the North Texas Kartway in Denton Texas. The race was sponsored by the Kart Shop, Red Bull, the National Guard, and many other generous donors! The proceeds from the event totaled approximately $10,000 and were donated to Kali’s Cure!
The weekend started with a concert on Friday, featuring Bronze Whaler and Full of Soul with Keith Anderson. Racing started Saturday with a dinner and auction in the evening. Grand Marshal Gordon Johncock was at the event all weekend signing autographs and talking with karters and race fans alike! It was a hot weekend in Texas but a perfect weekend for the entire family!
Kali’s Cure recently made a donation to Eric Lazar of Karting 2 Live. Thanks to our donation along the help of the Kart Shop and Troy Ross, Karting 2 Live was presented with a fantastic new hand controlled kart! This kart will travel with Eric to karting events across the country where other paralyzed individuals will have the opportunity to drive the kart and not only have a great time but also see the benefits of physical rehabilitation! Eric’s goal is to one day be able to have 10 of these karts all designed with the Kali’s Cure colors and logo!!!
